Dr. Arthur Benjamin is one of California's leading Ophthalmologists. He is a comprehensive Eye Physician and Surgeon, Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Benjamin specializes in Cataract and All Laser LASIK Surgery. Dr. Benjamin was one of the first ophthalmologists in Los Angeles to perform the innovative Acrysof ReSTOR IOL procedure which offers cataract sufferers and presbyopic patients restoration of normal vision without the use of reading glasses or prescription lenses. Dr.Benjamin is a leader in multifocal lens implantation in Los Angeles. Since opening his private practice, Dr. Benjamin has become one of the most reputable and respected ophthalmologists worldwide.
Russian born Arthur Benjamin's rich educational and research background is notable and impressive. Residing in New York, Benjamin quickly excelled in school, graduating at the top 1% of his high school class which paved the way to a full scholarship at Cornell University where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Benjamin received his medical degree from the prestigious Duke University School of Medicine in 1994. While at Duke, Dr. Benjamin was one of the researchers working on the development of an artificial retina. After completing an internship at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Benjamin acquired his ophthalmology training at the world renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute, at the UCLA School of Medicine. As a resident at UCLA, Dr. Benjamin was actively involved in a number of research projects on Uveitis, effects of HIV on the eye, CMV retinitis, and Ocular Blood Flow.
Dr. Benjamin is actively involved in his local community. Currently, Dr. Benjamin volunteers as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute where he teaches residents and medical students the latest surgical and medical advances in ophthalmology. He is also on the Governing and Advisory Board of the American Russian Medical Association (ARMA).
