Our Optical Boutique

At the Benjamin Eye Institute, our optical department is about more than the unique designer frames we carry, or our access to the best ophthalmic lenses available; though those are very important things. Our optical is about providing a means for clearly seeing this beautiful world; whether it is for the ultimate in stylish reading glasses, sensible office glasses, or light and comfortable every day glasses.

Putting fashion aside, however, our optician has a wealth of experience, and are always ready to assist. A patient may have prism, or a high myopia, or astigmatism, or some combination of the three. Having a properly trained and knowledgeable optician at their disposal is an invaluable asset as it pertains to selecting an optimally suited frame. It is possible for a patient's prescription to be prohibitive of certain frames, possibly due to aesthetics, but often due to simple incompatibility. It is the optician's job to direct our patients to a frame that will not only look terrific, but will also minimize the effect of the prescription on the visual appeal of the frame.

Julie also takes the time to educate our patients on their vast array of options when it comes to their spectacles. The fast talkers and pitch men of chain retailers cannot and do not take the opportunity to show the patient the actual benefits of the coatings and inlays that are being offered. Here, at The Benjamin Eye Institute, our patients are given an opportunity to make an informed decision about their glasses.

Through our innovative computer software, our patient can view clinically proven demonstrations of the functions and drawbacks of any options they may be offered. Of course, our optician Julie, will be there to further expound if necessary, and to answer any further questions the patient may have.

After the patient has decided what sort of lenses he or she would like to wear, then our opticians direct them to our large selection of highly fashionable frames. Exclusive designers such as Judith Lieber, Oliver Peoples, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, BeauSoleil, Robert Marc and many others have lent their collections to our office. These designers offer their own unique twists on current trends, and often are trendsetters in their own right.
