The staff at the Laser Eye Associates was great! The whole surgery took less than fifteen minutes and most importantly, was almost painless. I was able to go back to work in two days following the surgery. My procedure was a life changing experience. I can now fully enjoy my life with 20/20 vision.
In our competitive world, many health professionals try to "sell" rather than inform and educate patients about their services. Without adequate information, we can easily become a target of these who promise unrealistic results for a quick fix. To find the right doctor, you have to do an extensive research and get all the information available on a given subject. I did my research and proud of my decision. Prior to my PRK surgery, my vision was absolutely horrible! At -13.00 everything was a blur without contacts. Dr.Benjamin worked his magic and now I can see clearly! I really wanted to have LASIK but I was really nervous and my fear had stopped me before. Dr.Benjamin and his staff were very reassuring. They answered all my questions and helped relieve my fears. I must say that when I went in to Dr. Benjamin’s office for the first time I was looking into replacing my prehistoric pair of glasses. Once I met him and he showed me the video of himself having the Lasik procedure done and seeing patients the next morning, I was pretty much sold. The morning after the surgery I went in for my first post op appointment only to determine that I had gained 20/15 vision in both eyes. I would recommend Dr. Benjamin and his team to anyone interested in finding out more about Lasik or going through with the procedure. My left eye took 15 seconds and my right took 8! You will not regret it!! I am sitting back about 5 feet away from my computer screen while writing this!! ;)

I live to play outdoors. And whether kayaking, mountain biking, skiing or fishing, everything I do requires good vision. For years I battled with contacts, losing one halfway down an 8 mile class 5 river or having one pop out 10 miles into a 20 mile mountain bike ride. So when I finally made the decision to have Dr. Benjamin perform Lasik on me, my motivation was primarily driven by recreation. Little did I realize that the procedure would literally change every aspect of my life. It wasn't like I was previously in a wheel chair and suddenly could walk, but to me that's how its felt. Before I had LASIK I had constant irritation in my eyes, contacts were expensive as were glasses. It has now been two weeks since my procedure and I couldn't be happier - I can see, I can see, I can see and I love it!
No more fiddling with uncomfortable contacts, no more glasses (just cool sunglasses) and my eyes feel great.
Plus everyone at Dr.B's was so wonderful and supportive, it made the experience that much better.

I had Intralase Wavefront LASIK. Patient advocate, Jacolyn answered my numerous questions and was there
while the surgery was performed. My eyes ended up 20/15 and 20/20 - Thanks Guys!!! I can now read the paper as well as see distance, something I haven't been able to do in 15 years.

Before the procedure I wasn't able to see the clock next to my bed when I woke up; couldn't see the faces of my friends or family without glasses or contacts; certainly wasn't able to drive without them - now, I can run, swim and snorkel without wearing my glasses or worrying about losing my contacts.

I want to thank Dr. Benjamin for a great LASIK experience. The procedure was very quick and painless. Finally, I don't have go through painful experiences with contacts, which gave me discomfort, headaches, frequent eye infections, and constant dry eyes. It is great to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and be able to see, not trying to find my glasses and eventually stepping on them. My nearsightedness and astigmatism stopped me from participating in many sports activities and enjoyment of life. The moment I met Dr. Benjamin, I knew I could trust only him. Wow, what a huge difference a short 15 minutes makes! During the procedure there was no pain, just slight pressure and the ticking of a bright red laser. Having spent so much of my life helpless without my glasses and inconvenienced by an expensive contacts routine -- suddenly I could see, and with minimal down-time. I was back at work the following day. This was an all around fantastic experience for me. Of course the skilled hand of Dr. Benjamin, the warmth and professionalism of his staff, and their state-of-the-art facilities had a lot to do with it. I've always dreamed of getting rid off glasses and contact lenses. Glasses made it almost impossible for me to play tennis and contact lenses always made my eyes dry and irritated. Dr. Benjamin is an amazing doctor with wonderful staff, who could ask for more? I have worn glasses and contacts most of my life and when I had my consultation with Dr. Benjamin I couldn't have been more impressed. Since this procedure involved my eyes I wanted the best and believe me I found HIM. At the Benjamin Eye Institute they know their stuff from the doctor to all his staff, they make you feel at ease when making such a delicate decision. I went in for my procedure on a Tuesday evening and was up and at work the very next morning with no discomfort. When I went into his office for my next day follow-up appointment my vision was already 20/20, it was amazing!!! I am two weeks post procedure and things are only getting better. I would highly recommend Dr. Benjamin and his staff.
